I am called Mary Waweru ,I was born in the year 1970 in Kiambu County in Central province in the Republic of Kenya.
I attended primary School between the year 1977 to the year 1986 in Kiawamururu.
Due to lack of School fees I could not continue with my high School education in staid I got employed as a house maid for six years before I started my own business.
I overcame the hardship I experience in my life as a girl when I started my own business of tailoring and dress making which I learned at Kiambu Village polytechnic .
After I collected some money from friend then I joined the same Village Polytechnic that is mentioned above and after I qualified with grade iii of the grade test I begun my own business which am running to date and it has really helped me archive some of my dreams but the fight is still on for I have reached where I want to go.
What is unique in my place is that when you reach age 15 and you are a girl then you are suppose to get married and go for School,
I am married and I have 4 Children of whom the first is in class 7,
The second born is in class 5, and the third born is in class 3,the last born is class 1.
All of them want to come teachers and Doctors .
I provides Tailoring services and clothe sells in my Shop.
These services and goods are useful and are in demand because we have a big population in this place being a slum estate people are so many therefore the demand is also high in this place.
I chose this kind of business because it is the area of my profession and because there is ready market in this place.
My typical cost and revenue is 30,000KES .
This how I use my profit that I get from my tailoring business .
1.School fees for my children is 15,000KES.
2.Reinvestment in growing the business is 2,000KES.
3.Home improvement 3,000KES.
4.Traveling to places 2,000KES
If given this loan amount I will buy 1 sewing machine at 50 dollars .
This will make me do more work and of course Make more profit for me and and also one person will be employed in my shop and hence benefiting her or him and my customers as well will be served well and faster .
I expect my business to increased by 20 % if this one machine is added in this premise.
