I have never acquire my certificate due to financial constraints and poor family background.i decided to start a small business of supplying eggs so as to enable me raise the fee balance. I have experience in various fields like agriculture, business etc.
I have also started subsistence farming to reduce family expences.
I have started poultry farming with 80 layer which produce 5 trays. I sell 1 tray at ksh 450 making a profit of about 1500 ksh per day.
I also buy more trays to satisfy customers need making a profit of between 500-1000 ksh on a good day
I also sell chicke manure .
I also practice subsistence farming to reduce the cost of feeding family and birds. To reduce the supplement feeding I use both commercial and home made feeds. I always vaccinate my birds and consult extension officers to maintain the flock
First, I will buy some feeds and layers pellets (about 700ksh value)to improve the laying interval of my layers.
Properly fed birds lay frequently.
Secondly, I will increase the number of trays of egg I buy for resell from neighborhood from five to ten trays per day to supplement the market needs
