Iam Patricia Banda a Zambian who was born on 05th October, 1983 who comes from a humble background from sinda in Eastern province. Iam married blessed with two girls and a boy respectively. I did my primary education at sinda primary school and later went to Chipata secondary school . I further went to national institute of public administration NIPA in Lusaka where I perused my Accounting Technician Diploma ATD which enabled me get my accountancy job with the republic of Zambia as an accounts assistant. but due to low salaries we earn I have been facing a lot of financial challenges hence embarking on Tomatoes farming to overcome the deficit in terms of the hardships of taking care of my family at large . I wish my children to work more hard working than me and they should even do far much better in life .
we have a Ngoni culture where we celebrate every year called N'cwala ceremony from our province. my hobbies are baking different recipes, cooking different dishes and watching football at my spare time. I enjoy travelling too.
Besides my job I concentrate mainly on farming to tomatoes and other vegetables respectively. this enhances my livelihood and my taking of my family.
In my farming I have been facing a challenges of pests which I seriously need to control but due to little availability of funds Iam requesting my backers to help me with funds for me to completely eliminate this problem which will eventually enable me have massive production and later realize maximum profits. in sell tomatoes and a few variety of vegetables to my community which is always on high demand. the major costs incur in this business are insecticides which costs k 5000.00 , electricity charges during irrigation K3000.00, boosters K 2000.00, transport costs K 3,500.00. the total expenditure comes to K13,500.00. I eventually earn a profit of K 15,000.00. then I use my profits to take my children to school , family at large and the community by giving creating jobs at my farm.
Following the serious challenges I have experience so far, the funds raised I need to buy pest control system to curb insecticides that destroy my crops. Once I eliminate them I will have a good productions of tomatoes and vegetables which will enable me to make or sell at very good profit. The profits will help me to pay my children school fees and create jobs for the youths in our community and improve the standard of living of the family.
