My name is Tasila Mwale and Iam a double orphan child. I come from a humble background and I lost both of my parents at the of 7 years. I grew up with grand mother and auntie who have been keeping me and struggling to pay for school fees. I started going to school at the age 9 years and right now am still schooling due to financial challenges with guardians. Am currently doing grade 11 at Pamodzi Secondary School.
Currently my hardship is financial support especially school fee to pay for tuition fees to complete my secondary school with good results. My guardians and I, only sell flitter, cup cakes and scorns as a means of survival at home and to pay for school fees and transportation to take me to school as there is a long distance from home. Hence am trying my level best to work hard school so that I can finish school and go to University of Zambia and become a better person in life and in my family so that I can look after my old grandmother and Auntie who are looking after me at the moment.
Our culture is a culture that promotes early marriages in a girl child as such many girls in our communities succumb to early marriages hence end up stopping school and their dreams are shattered.
Therefore, it is my desire to work extra hard so that I could finish school and make my family proud and set an example to many girl children in our community to love school in future than being married at a tender age and stop school.
During pasture time, I love going to the Library to study do more research for my school and prepare myself adequately for the school final examinations
Currently I sell flitters, cup cakes, and scorns, I need the funds to help buy more buckets, floor and fly pans to be making more flitters, cup cakes and scorns as the children at our school buy a lot, hence the main purpose of all this, is to make more income to support me at school and buy food at home as I live with old grandmother and Auntie who struggles a lot for my well being and to see to it that I complete my education and go to the University of Zambia to study medicine and become a medical doctor. Due to little financial support since my grandmother does not work and my Auntie, I came up with the idea of baking cup cakes, scorns and flitters. I first started with ZMW 500.00 and my capital has to ZMW 1500.00 and that is how I support myself to pay for tuition fees and go to school for lessons.
Due to high demand for flitters, cup cakes and flitters, am quiet confident that should I raise invest more funds into this business I could make more income to help me at and at home to buy school requirements, pay schools and food at home.
The funds that am applying for, I need to pay for my tuition school fees and buying text books and books for using in class. The main purpose , is to help me prepare adequately for final in examination at grade 12 and pass my exams and obtain good division so that I could stand a chance of being selected to go to University of Zambia to study medicine. As such it will bring joy and happiness to my family and community to have a female doctor in the history of our family and our community.
