My name is James Mulyata and I'm a tailor by profession. I started primary education at Kabanana Primary School and did not complete my education due to financial challenges as I had lost my father at a tender age. While growing up, I use to associate so much with my uncle who use to pick up at his shop in town, where he was practicing tailoring and designing by making office suits, church suits or uniform, school uniforms, ladies traditional attire and many other clothing when required by his customers. Hence I drew the inspiration and passion in his work and started learning sewing and designing of different types of clothing as well. Therefore, I was 18 years of age, I was sent to Lusaka vocation training and acquired more skills in tailoring and designing of office smart attire for sale and earn good income. Having achieved this as a young boy I was able to alleviate poverty or hardship in my life. Therefore, I look forward to see my children get the best education in their lives and go the university of Zambia and do even much better. Our culture is rich in traditional dancing and traditional ceremonies that are celebrated by different tribes.
Mainly during pastime I love going to the gym, watching volleyball and sometimes football.
I'm involved in tailoring and designing of different men's suits, ladies attires, girls, boys and school uniforms. I design office traditional suits for men, ladies and for boys and girls. I also do make and supply medical attire for doctors, nurses and these are the aprons, lab coats, dust coats and aprons. For school, mainly the common school uniforms, jerseys, school badges .
