my name is Derrick zinentah. born to Mr. and Mrs. frederrick zinentah. i grew up in a humble home in a village called charai. i started my basic school there. with hardwork, am now a student of university of Ghana, legon. after my secondary education i had no finance to continue my education so i started as a pupil teacher in a private school in wa. i accumulated some money but it was not enough to take me to school. with advice from a friend, i started a sachet water business in my village. my first reason was to help eradicate Guinea worm in my village but with time, i saw that it was giving me small money which i saved to come to school.

supplying of clean water to my community. in my village, the people drink from streams and dams. this cause lot of guinea worm among the people. so to help curb the guinea worm, i saw the need for clean water, so i started the sachet water business. from the beginning i used the money from the money i raised from the people teaching i did. this business involves a lot of cost since it involves transportation and some labour. i also try to use some of the profit to plaugh back into the business. i also use some of the profit to pay my fees.

when i get the loan it will help me expand my business to a larger people and many communities. The packaged water is very profitable. since it helps in reducing sicknesses and also help maintain the health of the community people. The cost of the average sachet is about USD 0.08 which is equivalent to GHS 0.20. A bag contain about 30 sachet of water. And i make a profit of about USD 0.80 on each bag. it is a very good makeup since i supply it in bulk. The demand is very high especially at this time of guinea worm . My village is about 10 000 of which 80-85 percent lack clean drinking water. With the help of ZIDISHA loan i will expand my business to cover more communities. Thank you.
