It is an honour to present myself to such out shining organisation as Zidisha. My names are Memory Chalwe born in Kitwe district copperbelt province. I am the only female child of my parents the rest are males. Being the only female child of my parents, my parents had to take care of me, through teaching house chores, and also I was taught to be a good child in the society as they expect one day I to be someone's wife. My parents took me to school from primary to secondary school and completed my school.
Being the only female child, I was taught to be responsible child and hardworking. Because of that I grew up with mindset of hardwork. I was taught some skills like platting hair by my mother. I became good at it as time goes by.
Through the skill of platting hair, I opened a small shop through the help of my parents as they thought of letting me stand on my feet not depending on anyone. Because of the skill I had in platting I attracted some customers and business started growing.
It is important to know where you live and people involved I might say we are different people full of respect of each and hardworking and honest even though we can't good all of us. Because of our backgrounds and our cultural heritage, this makes us be responsible people and hardworking.
I have 2 children and they are all still in primary school.. my first born child is a male child and his ambition is to become a medical doctor and my second child is a female child she wants to be a teacher. I believe I will make the dreams of my children come to pass.
Because the of the nature I was brought, not depending on anyone, I grew up a hard working young lady visionary person, simple but smart... Intelligent and hardworking. I loved doing house chores most the time and like reading love stories and also holy bible.
The good and services I offer in the society is hair saloon.
Well to say about my business, hair saloon is important in the lives of women in the society, because everyone lady wants to look beautiful and adorable, this makes saloon business on demands useful in ones life and as business grow due to high demand on ladies.
I liked platting hair and I was passionate about and I believed I can make it through. And because of high demand on ladies wants to look pretty all the time this makes my business important in my life.
As cost of living is high in our country, raffle I can say about 2000.
Currently the profit is used to reinvest in my business and buy saloon required items and also home goods to keep my family living. I also buys something for my school going children.
Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to be part of this great community. I am glad to say I am very happy. The funds will be used to buy items to be used in saloon, that I am able to afford and meet the needs of the customers.
