I grew up with my grandmother at a rural village in Kisii. Born to a single mother was a bit challenging as she couldn't be able to raise fee and other essentials.
Went to local primary school attained 329 marks in KCPE joined a nearby secondary school and managed to go college to pursue a medical course. Started hustling after college while saving to open up a grocery shop.
I'm a nature lover and my dream has always been to start a grocery to be able factor in fresh crops from the rurals areas.
I sell tomatoes, onions, cabbages, kales and other veggies. I also offer after sell services like chopping veggies and packaging. Veggies like kales and tomatoes are most goods in demand and useful in most homesteads.
I wanted to breach the gap between fresh groceries supply and eating healthy to reduce non-communicable diseases in the community. In a day I need up around Ksh. 5000 to restock and pay my employer and also I've to pay for my annual licence which costs Ksh 7500.
This business helps me to pay my bills and meet my family's needs and save a little amount.
I want to add avocado to the list of veggies that I sell. This will attract customers as they've been asking for them, by doing so I'll be able to factor in new customers hence profit increase.
I'll also be able to employ another youth to help in daily running of my business and as a family we'll be having a variety of veggies to choose from.
