My name is Francis Munene from Gichugu, Kirinyaga county, Kenya. I am 40 years gentleman, first born in family of six. I'm a self made entrepreneur currently in agribusiness. After a rough journey in lack of stable jobs and failed businesses for years which left me a frustrated alcoholic, I chose a different path of life and took farming as a form of recovery. By and by it has turned out to be a passion form of income generation as I also teach young men that there's money in farming. I look forward to become consistent in food production.
I am a small scale green capsicum farmer. I joined farming after a number of failed businesses over time. It's also a route I took as a recovery strategy from alcohol addiction. I am doing green capsicum in my small coffee farm that I got from my Dad. I am doing mixed farming in it since I have bananas, pumpkins, courgettes, macadamia, coffee like 120 stems, passion fruits and butternuts. The reason as to why I am doing it this way is lack of enough space. My main commercial project is capsicum. I have like 900 stems. I would like to do like an acre later as I grow. Apart from capsicum I would also like to upgrade to coloured capsicum and demon chillies, habanero and bird eye chillis. My first harvest was 4kgs from the first 200 plants I started with. Then I have harvested 8kgs two times. I m looking forward to harvesting around 80 to 100kgs weekly. This will translate to around 320 to 400kgs monthly. As at the moment I am selling at 50 in the local market.
Thank you Zidisha for the approval. Here's my budget for the ksh 6324 , fertilizer 10kgs 1200. Insecticides 450, Forliar 350, courgettes hybrid seeds 10gms 500, 15 chicks 2250, chickmash 1000 wiremesh
