My name is Liswaniso Malala, I live in Chongwe district in Barra stone township. I started my primary school level at Lubuto Primary School in Ndola and later completed my secondary school Ndeke high school in Kitwe. I obtained good school results and I was awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Zambia in the school of medicine in bachelors of medicine and surgery. Through hard work I managed to graduate with a bachelor's degree in the school of medicine and surgery. Currently am working at the University Teaching Hospital UTH at clinic 5.
Having graduated at the University was not my dream only, I grew from a family of farmers, my parents are farmers and I have emulated them as I got the inspiration from them. I'm also an entrepreneur in farming business, I grow tea, maize and a variety of vegetable and I also rare chickens apart from my former job.
Chongwe is a land cultured in farming activities and the raring of livestock, most people there are into farming and that's how the land I live is really cultured.
My desire in life is to wish my children to get the best education they deserve.
Am looking at buying the Centre Pivot Irrigation machine for helping me at the farms to distribute water due to dry spell of rain at the moment. Am involved in growing tea, coffee, rice, maize and vegetables. At the moment there is lack of rainfall here in Zambia as such there is need to find other mean of irrigation method of watering the crops. Tea and coffee are very useful in our day to day lives because people mostly use the for daily consumption and without tea leave and coffee our could be made difficult to sustain. I also grow maize and rice at the same. I choose to venture in the farming project because farming today is highly profitable more than any other business at the moment. Farming is mainly the source of food security and its revenue is very attractive and highly profitable. Therefore at the farms I need man power, buy of farming inputs, maize seed and many other farming inputs when required, hence the total cost revenue is approximately K 130,000.00.
However, the total profits made are used in growth of the business-reinvestments and help to my children school fees and improve the living standard of the family.
Considering the dry spell last and this year 2024 farming season, it has to my attention that I buy the Centre Pivot Irrigation machine for water distribution to supply to the tea and coffee plantation to due to drought. Iam a major support of Kawambwe tea and coffee. Last year we did harvest less hence I want to buy the big irrigation equipment to help in water distribution to the crops in the farms, tea and coffeer requires more water for it grow very well. The Centre Pivot Irrigation will help me and benefit me a lof for water distribution of crop and a good harvest.
During the marketing season for tea and coffee, I will have huge profits that will benefit me to reinvest more the tea plantation in future and improve the well being of the family.
