My name is John Muriithi Njuguna. Am the last born in a family of four, four boys. I was born on 26th May 1994. I am married to a beatiful Ugandan girl from Kampala. I went to Entarara primary school in Entarara location between 2000 and 2003. Later, i joined Empunit Primary School to complete my primary education. Later I joined Ngoto Boys High School where i enrolled for secondary education between 2009 and 2012. Later, i enrolled for Bachelor of Economics and Statistics at Kenyatta University. My journey in building a business has not been easy. For a long time, i had an ambition to start a wholesale shop. To overcome the hardship to attain an important goal in my life, i began doing freelance writing to raise the capital to start a business. The land in which i live is favorable for agriculture, an economic activity that i have engaged in well. I would like my children to be business people because i believe in self-employment. During my free time, i like to watch football and watch YouTube documentaries on business people.

Wajungush shop is a retail shop that sell charcoal, cereals, groceries, and general goods. The goods are in demand because the consumers use the products everyday in their daily lives. I chose this business because i have excellent customer skills that allow me to engage the customers easily and convince them to purchase the products. The business has low barriers of entry and low competition in the area it is situated.

At the moment, I have Ksh.150,000 worth of products. Each day, i purchased general goods worthy Ksh.40000 which i get 5000 per month. I purchase charcoal at Ksh.1700 per bag which fetches Ksh.400 profit. Per month, i sell for seven bags of charcoal which translates to Ksh. 2, 800. The costs of cereals are Ksh.30,000. I sell include Njahi, muthokoi, Sura Mbaya, Dry Maize, and Kawairimu which translate to Ksh.10,000 per month. Lastly, i sell groceries including sukuma wiki, spinach, boiled beans, boiled githeri, tomatoes, and onions. The cost of buying groceries is Ksh.1000 which translates to Ksh.400 daily and Ksh.12,000 weekly. From the aforementioned calculation, my business generates Ksh.29, 800.

The profits that i generate from my family i reinvest in buying more products from my suppliers, lease more hectares of land to plant maize, and purchase a plot where i can build my family a permanent home.

Hello backers and the entire Zidisha community. It is my first time on the platform and i believe raising the capital will help me buy more maize flour, and cooking oil for my shop. I will use Ksh.4000 to buy a sack of maize and Ksh.2000 to buy cooking oil for my shop.

Increasing the stock will benefit my family because i will be able to add more stock to make more profits and take my child to school. Thank you. I am looking foward to a longtime working relationship with Zidisha.
