My name is Joy Hankombo, I come from a humble background being 4 girls only. I was born and bred in Lusaka with a single mother who raised me up. My mother was a business lady who could only raise little money to help drive the family of 4 girls until, I grew up with my siblings.

Education, I started my primary school at St. Patricks' Primary School in Kabwata, While at school I was a very brilliant girl in class. I obtained higher marks and I was selected to go to David Kaunda Technical School were I completed my form 5.

Hardship, despite completing my form 5 very well, I was faced with many challenges that surrounded me due to the illness of my mother. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer , she suffered for 3 three solid years until she died. Therefore, my education dream was shattered for some time. But With time I overcame the trying moments through encouragement and well wishers who encouraged me to soldier on with the challenges of life.

Nevertheless, I got an opportunity to apply for a job as Sales lady/ book keeping at one of the reputable Indian Wholesale Shop in town where I started working and starting earning an income. I worked there for 3 years and due to hard work, I was promoted to be the Supervisor among my friends or workmates. My boss was very much pleased and I was awarded a scholarship to study Accounts at Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants ZICAS. Today I'm a qualified chartered accountant management working for Zambia Electricity Corporation-ZESCO.

Business; Having worked an Indian wholesale shop, I learnt how hard working Indian community work hard. I was inspired in such a way that in future I could start up my business. Hence I have established a hardware shop in the central business CBD, along freedom way where I ran my hardware shop after raising money through my saving accounts from all my earnings from my monthly income.

Land & Culture, am living in land full of people of different culture, some like to dress up in their traditional attires, people are free to speak in their own traditional languages. Such Luvale, Kaonde, Bemba, Swahili, Tonga, Lunda and the Indian community. All these live in our land and practice different cultural norms all together and that make it unique.

Following the hardship I went through during my early stages of life, It is my wish and prayer I work hard to bring the best education in life of my children.

During my free time, I love singing at church and I love adventure.
