I am 33 year old ,I am widow and has one child. My husband who was a police officer died while on duty in Nairobi and I was forced to relocate to the rural area because of high cost of living in the the city.
I decided to starting farming ,and the greatest problem was lack of knowledge on farm management and good agricultural practices ,however I joined Yolele farmers youth group where we were thought the best practices. I have since expanded my horticulture farm to 3/4 acres and I am happy with farming.
My son wants to be a teacher when he grows up, he loves science and says he wants to teacher science when he grows up
my hobbies include, singing, dancing, and watching movies.
I provide assorted vegetables ,eg kale's,cabbages, traditional African vegetables and onions.
These goods are on high demand due to changing weather which is unfavorable for farming and only few people willing to do commercial farming as employment.
I choose farming business because it was easy to learn the best practices and management skills as well as high returns on investments.
my monthly revenues per month are average $350 and my cost of running and maintaining the farm are $120 on average per month.
I use my profits to take care of my kid and mother , support mother in-law and save for business improvement and expansion.
I would use the money to purchase a wheelbarrow for transportation and water tank for water storage.I would be very thankful and I expect the work in the farmer to be much easier and profitability to improve by 50%kindly help.
