About Me

I was born in Kumbungu in the northern territories of Ghana in 1991. I am the third child of parents. Farming is the main economic activity my parents were engaged in at the time I finished SHS. I completed Junior High School in Kumbungu and senior high school in the same town as well. As a child raised in a typical African family via extended family, life was unbearable after high school. Both parents had passed away by then so as early as 17 years I began fending for myself.
I remembered I toiled so much so hard to raised enough money in other to pay my younger sister's school fees. She had admission to pursue a nursing course in Accra. But there was no money to pay the fees. I joined a construction company and carry mortar/concrete on my head. With my support, we overcame that challenge. with support from friends, I began selling second-hand shoes and such a business has become my source of livelihood. I am married with one kid and we live in Tamale, Ghana. The funeral performance of a chief among the people of northern region is very unique. The funeral embodies a lot of drumming and dancing.
My son always dream of becoming a Lawyer in future. He always read the constitution of Ghana at his leisure time hoping that he will be familiar with some of the legal terms use in Ghana.
I had an excursion to Paga where I saw a live crocodile for the first time. There is a very big Dam at Paga where crocodiles reside and it has become a tourist destination for both local and foreign people. It was such a memorable event and will never forget that day in my life.

My Business

Second- hand shoe business
I trade in second-hand shoes in Tamale. It is a lucrative business per the demand for used goods from abroad. In Africa, the younger generation prefers used shoes from abroad to locally made shoes in Ghana.
This second-hand shoes are in high demand because people perceive shoes made in Europe or America to be of higher quality compared to locally made shoes.
I chose this business because it is profitable and cost effective in dealing with second-hand shoes in Ghana. It normally cost me US$ 250.00 to purchase a bag of shoes from Importers in Accra for resale. Normally, I impose 10% profit on shoes I bought for resale.
I normally use part of the profit for my child education and part for reinvesting into the business.

Loan Proposal

I wish to seek for zidisha loan services for the purpose of buying more goods for my second-hand shoe store. I will use this loan to purchase more shoes in other to satisfy my customers. I will duly pay this loan back to zidisha when I am granted this loan. Thank you!
