I was born in Bulondo,Western province to Julius Simiyu who had two wives, Rose Wekesa and Agnetta Anyango who is my mother.I had 10 brothers and sisters and growing up was quite a challenge as food was hard to come by. We grew maize and tilled the farm in order to eat.I went to primary school in Bulondo primary until class 8 but couldnt continue because of lack of fees. I got a friend who taught me how to sew clothes and i decided to start doing it as a means to make a living. Both of my parents are alive and i help them with what i earn. Life has had its challenges but i am a determined person and always ready to face challenges headon. I am married and have two children, Godlah and Eli.
I am a tailor,i buy cloths from Bungoma town and take them to my shop in Luucho where i make trousers, school uniforms and dresses at an affordable fee as most of my clients are people who do not earn much. I make and sell one trouser for around 7 dollars while a dress costs 8 dollars. As for school uniforms i charge round 8 dollars for shirt and shorts but because my clients hardly make enough money they pay me over installments, some are quite diligent and pay me fully after i deliver the work. I pay rent of 10$ per month. I love this job as it helps me feed my family and helps me pay my childrens fees.
I will buy kitenge cloth worth 70$ and buttons worth 3$,then add a spare part (needle holder) worth 5$.With these i will increase my coth production by 50% and make at least 10$ per week.I will be able to put my children in a private school.
