About Me

Collins is the first child of his parents and was born in the year 1988 at Berekum Holy Family Hospital. I grew up in Berekum and started my school at St. Augustine's R/C Boys primary school in the year 1993. I became class captain for 5 times. I later started my high school education in the year 2003 at the Nafana Senior High School. I studied General Arts and Economics. Three years later, I graduated from High school and I have since been home till now, even though I had a very good grade to proceed to the universities but there was no money to pay for my admission fees. Live became unbearable for me at this time since my poor parents couldn't afford to sponsor my education anymore. I had no option than to follow friends for casual jobs for my survivor. I have done many mania jobs before I was able to setup this little snack shop I am owning now.
At a point in time, I have to go carry concrete at building sites to earn some small money to feed for a day. It wasn't easy when I was ejected from my rented room because I couldn't pay for my rent. I was sleeping in my church hall for 3 months before a good Samaritan came my way to help me get a place to lay my head. I however stay and serve this helper from God who donated his single room in his house for me for 4 years. He saw how hard working I am and gave me some small capital to start something with my life since I'm not growing younger anymore. About $200 I received has been very helpful to my life . I used that money to sell gum, handkerchiefs, top up cards and stuff like that in the streets of Sunyani for the past four years. I have been blessed $2500 from the small capital I started trading with.

My Business

It is always crucial to take it upon one's self to build your own life to make it better for yourself in my community. I am born as a man and have to face my life as such. Society doesn't help help much in my community but I won't wait for someone to bread me. This has been the reason why I am also working hard to make an ends meet. I operate a snack shop bar at Sampa Nurses training college with my $2500 capital I was able to raise in the streets of Sunyani. I have build my small shop, bought one fridge and furnished the shop with drinks, biscuits, pure water and more. I started operating this shop some four months ago when the school was establish. It is a new training school and I am lucky to have the opportunity to trade here. Things has really been good for me for only four months that I have worked here. I invested $2500 into this business and in this less than four months, I have gain a profit savings of $400 aside my daily expenditure. I have realized that, There is no photo copy machine at the campus and that mostly makes the students go out to town to do photo copy. I therefore want to buy a photo copier machine to serve them at my snack shop at the school campus. I believe this will go a long way to help me gain much profit. Per my calculation, I can increase my profit margin to 30%. I am currently saving for my marriage from the profit I gain, whilst I still use some part to reinvest into my business. I am proud I live an independent life and can take good care of myself and poor parents.

Loan Proposal

I may like to buy new fridge to stock can drink and mashed kenkey for my customers. It is all good my business is gradually growing. Thanks to zidisha for making it possible for work growth. I have at least been able to rent another kiosk that I am going to place a photo copy machine to make copies for the students at the nurses training school at Samoa.
