I am a business lady specializing in the sale of cosmetics within the city of Nairobi. I was born into an average family within the county of Nyeri and undertook my basic education within the same region. I however moved to Nairobi after completing my high school studies to pursue college (did computing and secretarial studies). I have since worked for different firms, and set up my own business in 2013. I started a mobile money transfer back then, and added cosmetics three months later. These were some of the most difficult times in the history of my business as a fire razed down the premises towards the end of 2013! I took a business loan that I repaid within 6 months and the business has since been stable and growing progressively. However, the recent bad political climate has hit my business and now that things are returning to normal, I'd love to increase my stock to initial levels so that the business can run optimally.
I sell cosmetics products that I import from Gulf countries, Turkey, the US and China, and rarely from the US. My business has been very stable but sales reduced towards the last quarter of 2017 due to the political climate that existed then. The politically charged climate is however behind us now and I am working hard to restock the business. I also provide mobile money transfer services at the premises, located within the CBD. In my experience, cosmetics and money transfer and two businesses that are in high demand in Nairobi, and I do not regret engaging in them - they have a bright future here. I use the proceeds of the business to finance all my expenditure, which amount to about $150.
Estimates:
Sales per month - $2,500)
Monthly profits before deducting costs - $300 - $400.
I plan to change some of the stock that isn't really moving fast with that which can move a bit faster.
I wish to change some of the non-moving stock with the requested loan. I'll bring faster moving stock that will be more on demand over the following few weeks. My estimate is that I'll need about $100 for this purpose, for which I'll top up the difference.
