Hello Zidisha Lenders, My name is Joan Ngina. I am greatly honored to be part of this community.
I currently reside in Nairobi Kenya. I studied Marketing Management, Computer programming, Accountancy and eventually ventured into Culinary Arts which has always been my passion.
I am the first born in a family of four children.
We are 2 girls and 2 boys. I am a mother of 5 children, 4 boys, 1girl.
They are all in school with the first born being in University and the last being in kindergarten.
I started my Culinary Journey in the year 2014 as a Home Baker and Pastry Chef Trainer. The business picked up very well and thus decided to get a business premise away from home as I had ventured into commercial baking and my overall client base had increased.
However my business hit rock bottom in 2019 when the Corona Pandemic hit the country.
I faced financial difficulties as most Restaurants and Food handlers were banned from selling food in public places due to health issues.
However after the bans were lifted I used money that I had saved up as capital to bounce back into business. I set up a fully fledged restaurant which has been steadily growing.
Thank you so much Zidisha Backers for the funds that you gave me.
The funds helped me in purchasing my restaurant licences hence aiding me in bouncing back into business.
From then I was able to employ to workers. Who have been of great help to me especially when the workload is too much. We work as a team..let's say we are more of family.
I really hope that you fund me in my next project so that I can be able to purchase the equipment that will ensure that I meet the demand for food in my community and to relatively sustain my workers and family needs and help other members in Our Zidisha community.
Thank you.
Looking forward to your funding.
Hi Zidisha,
If funded I am hoping to purchase a double unit deep fryer that will help with the increasing demand for snack items such as Chips, Bhajia, Viazi Karai and Oastries such as Samosas, Mandarin an Nahamri which are local snacks that are loved by both adults and children in my local community.
I have also realised that there is a huge demand for grilled foods such as Kuku and Nyama choma which is basically Grilled Chicken and Meat respectively.
By adding grilled items into my menu means that I will increase my productivity in the restaurant as well as be able to create more employment opportunities for others.
Eventually the funds will help in the expansion of my business thus enable me to create job opportunities for the jobless, it shall also aid in sustaining my families needs, the community at large and in return I will be able to assist othe members in our Zidisha community.
Thank you.
Looking forward to your funding.
