Iam a teacher.I teach lower classes at Sosit primary. My father and mother separated a long time ago.Due to vulnerability my mother got married to another woman opot mwolomet.Throughout she has been picking green tea to earn a living. All of us kids are six and iam the fifth born.Well wishers assisted me in schooling up to secondary school. After that i also picked tea then began growing horticultural crops to get funds to join a teachers training college.I used the farm proceeds to pay for my college education.Today i still do farm work as a side hustle.I love to farm.I have one child in class three. He wants to be a teacher when he grows up just like me.My hobby is to do farming and visit with friends or relatives.
I have two acre piece of land under a maize crop.I do this kind of work other than teaching to get extra money to meet my financial needs including paying fees for my son.Maize is a staple food in my region it has a ready market. Its also not perishable you can store it and do speculation of prices. My typical costs for the two acres is KES 25,000/=.i estimate to get 50 bags in due season which i will sell at an estimated price of KES 2,300/= per bag.If all remains constant i will make a profit of KES 80,000/=.
I want to buy two bags of 10 kg each of top dressing fertilizer .The cost of each bag is $18.For two bags is $ 36.I plan to buy a piece of land with the profits to settle on with my son as iam single. This fertiliser will improve production of the crop thus i will harvest more produce.
