I
grew up in Meru and I was born there in 1973.I really enjoyed my
younger days and even now iam a jovial person and this has all along
helped me to move a long with people and make good networks.Iam now
based in Nakuru and doing business of poultry keeping, supply of eggs,
supply of firewood to people/clients.My future dream is to become a
strong supplier of chicken and eggs in the entire East Africa Region.
When I was young, I saw how hard working my mother was more especially
in keeping of indigenous chicken. She used to sale during market days
and this is where my school fees came from. I was confident about this
business and I saw myself one day of becoming a big supplier applying
modern technology. And indeed my dream has come true today.

My Business

I
source young chicks fro Kenchick -Kenya based in Nakuru. This is one
day old chick and keep and then supply to retailers and hotels as well
as individuals. I also supply eggs and by extension I supply eggs as
well.
I decided to start this business immediately after completion of my
secondary school education.This was based on the desire I had developed
in my young age as i saw my mother keeping and growing in this
project.The desire to move on was propelled by the fact that its
something I know better and can do with a lot of passion.My biggest
challenge is when there is disease outbreak, inadequate funds sometimes
due to high prices of feeds and also competition.My customers range from
individuals, hotels and market suppliers.
My goals are one, to expand this business, develop a good customer base
that is on a continuous basis being served without any miss anywhere and
lastly increase my income and become self-reliant.
This is what Iam most proud of Rearing chicken and see them grow into
cash.

Loan Proposal

Iam
going to spend the money on purchasing 30 more broilers for hatching
and supplying to my clients. The total cost will be $100. This will
boost my business as more and more clients are coming for this products
and hence meeting their demands will be my bottom line. This will go a
long way in increasing profits, more income and hence savings for future
re-investments. As well, it will meet my personal, family and business
needs.
