My name is Chrispine Ochieng' Okoth. Was brought up in a polygamy family and i was the sixth born in a family of nine. My education level is upto form 4. I was given a chance to look after a pastor's dairy cow and poultry and that's where i was given a calf and a chick to start with. The unique culture is that our society at large love keeping poultry and other domestic animals. Moreover, my children i would wish them to pursue a degree in one of the agricultural courses. All through from my childhood level a love keeping animals.
My source of loan repayment will be from my poultry products that is eggs, or chicken. Consumption of poultry products(kuku kienyeji) is very high in my residence area. I have decided to look into this kind of business because maintainance and starting capital is not expensive and moreover it is where my passion lies. The returns from the business is approximately ksh3000 per month. Am using my profits on the following ways;
1. Paying tution fees for my children
2. Home improvement
3. Reinvesting in my growing business
This loan will help me do the following in my poultry farm.
Buying some new 3 iron sheet to expand my poultry house.It will costkshs2400.
buying chicken net wire which will cost.kshs1850..Then the balance will ten chicks at kshs1200..
the developments are as follows i will have enough space for more stock and the wire will reduce infection of my folk thus reduce cost of drugs and also the feed consumption will reduce because they will be under free rage but enclosed in a certain area . i will save kshs 600 per month.
