About Me

My name is KELVIN KENNEDY MBOYA, and I was born in Kilimanjaro, Moshi. I am the only boy in a family of four children. I am 29 years old and a father of two. I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and after successfully completing my secondary education, I returned to Tanzania to join Mbeya University of Science and Technology, where I graduated in 2018 with a diploma in architecture.

My lifelong passion has been to succeed in business and provide for my family and dependents. In 2020, after completing my volunteer work in my field at the Dodoma City Council offices, I decided to open a business selling cosmetics and beauty products. This decision stemmed from the lack of such services near my area, which is surrounded by a high demand population including students from the planning college, Tanzanian civil servants, and police officers whose workplaces, colleges, and residences are nearby.

My Business

My business has been running for about three years now. I sell, distribute, and educate the community about quality cosmetic products, correct usage, and proper skin care, especially given Dodoma's harsh sun and hard water conditions. This has earned my shop a good reputation, with people coming for our services and suggesting improvements for better service delivery.

I have many needs that I cannot meet at the moment due to limited time and resources. I would like to expand my business to firstly, provide the needed services to my community, and secondly, create more job opportunities for young people like myself.

Project Proposal

I am seeking a loan of three hundred thousand Tanzanian shillings from you. With this loan, I will be able to renovate the outdoor seating area in my office so that customers and members of my community who enjoy nail polish and manicures can access this service. Additionally, this loan will enable me to hire an employee and provide them with capital to deliver this service and earn a living to support their family and improve their standard of living.
