About Me

My names are Rachel Mumbi. Am a single mother of three children 7 years, 5 years and 3 years respectively. I started mushroom farming when I left my marriage in end of 2014. It was a challenge for me with four mouths to feed and without support.
I have had ruthless people who wanted to bring my business down after partnering up with them, but glory to God am a fighter. I got up and still in the fight, my kids are my inspiration to hold on and work harder.
All I want is someone to have a little faith in me and trust that I can do it. My future plans years down the line is to one day have a company where I will be an exporter to supply different kinds of mushrooms all over the world.

My Business

I first learned of mushroom farming from a program on the Television. Then I was working as a graphic designer and my pay was too little. So I went for my training and later on did my market research where I learned about my buyers way before I started farming.
That really helped knowing I would be able to meet my daily orders and since its a very perishable food item I would have no trouble selling them off. I left my job in 2015 and started my farming.
I believe mushroom farming is an empire of wealth waiting to be well tapped. I can not regret venturing in mushroom farming because I can afford the necessities for my children. I only need a little help to move to the next level, buy equipment and tanks, fence the space I have rented out and buy more stock.

Loan Proposal

I plan to fence the piece of land I farm for more privacy $250, make a colonizing house to keep my bags in, the concrete house I use is too cold yet lot of warmth is needed in this stage $200. Make a big drum for steaming my hay at least 25-30 bales at a go, that would be of so much help $150. the rest of the money I will buy materials (hay, seeds, wheat bran and labour).
Financial stability in a family is very important, in that my children and the people I hire can have a comfortable life, (food, shelter, clothing and education).
My profit margin in the first month will be 50% increase and gradually increase in due time.

    Hi Zidisha,
Thank you for the great opportunity you gave me. Things were a bit tough but all is well now. I am now growing both oyster and button mushrooms. This is all because of the money you loaned me. Thank you. Be blessed.

    Hi Zidisha team,
Sorry for my late payments. There was an issue with the place I have rented for work and had to shift to a different location. My crop all got spoilt in there bags so I have no mushrooms to sell and I have to build structures in my new place of work. Kindly lenders bear with me, but promise to be back on my feet soon and pay off the loan.

    Thanks you

    Regards Rachel
