I was born from a humble background my father being a polygamist with four wives we could lack even food as a basic need. I went to a local primary school and upon reaching class eight a well wisher paid my fees upto fourth form then i went to train as a tailor from the nearby market.
At the moment I have one sewing machine with at least five materials to start off.
I started off with only one customer but now I have five of them who come from time time time. Hoping that this will increase in the near feature.
Our land and culture is a very difficult one where women are not allowed to prosper business wise hence alot of challenges. Like when a woman has access to finances and is business oriented they say she has grown horns and therefor is not eligible to stay with any man or not marriageable for that matter hence its quite a challlenge.
I basically do tailoring as a business and I used textile the most. I get the materials from as far as nairobi or other times I get them locally from local trader according to the customers needs. I chose this kind of business because its very easy to deal with women whose demands for new cloths will never end hence there is always a ready market somehow. I collect revenue basically from the materials which I get and sell at a higher price to make some profit and even designing the cloths too give me some good income.
This time round I started on a project of rental houses which I have brought up and I need money to do the plastering so that tenants would come in and help me repay back the loan.
I will buy materials for my tailoring business. each material costs around 1,500 KES I will purchase like 3 of them and make them at a cost of 2,500KES making a profit of I thousand each from the three materials.
