About Me

My name is Loveness Njovu, am a mother of 4 children. I live in Macha township in Choma. I completed my grade 12 at Nyase Secondary School. Am an entrepreneurs, a business lady involved in agriculture business. I started agriculture business 10 years ago and it has been my livelihood and source of income. I started this business an inspiration from my parents who taught as children then the importance of farming and food security for the family. Once I learnt how cardinal agriculture farming was, I did not hesitate to go into farming of maize crop and vegetable. Today farming is a major source of food security and a source of income which helps my family and children . Therefore, I need to development the art of farming very much by investing heavily in this project by acquiring farming inputs and tools in good time for a huge maize production.

My Business

My main source of income is agriculture business. I grow different types of crops such as vegetables, maize, legume, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra and onions. The goods are highly profitable and the demand is very high because the goods are very useful in many household in our community. Mostly the profits made I use them to buy the farming inputs needed for my crops to grow very well. Profits are also used for home improvement and for paying school fees for my children.Hence my typical revenue is K40,000.00 to acquire all the farming materials and tools needed for the farming season. In addition to that I also have to factor in the cost of labor at the farms and other logistics when required.

Project Proposal

Am planning to buy more insecticides, pesticides and herbicides to help me to destroy insects that are destroying or eating or killing the crops from growing accordingly in my crop farm gardens. These pesticides will benefit and help me a lot by preserving the crops and produce a good crop production for sale and for home consumption. Am expecting to produce 400 bags of 90kg of maize of which 350 bags will be for sale @ K 350 per bag and will be expecting K 70,000 as profit increase as compared to the last harvest where I had less profits due to drought of rain.
