About Me

My name is Osei Janet born on 16th June 1986 i am now 29 years of age. I am from Kuamsi in the Ashante region of Ghana. I am the elderly among three children of my parents. My mother is a single mother who has for sometime now engaged herself in petty trading. Through the little efforts of my mother, she has been able to give my siblings and I the best of education that she could afford. i had my basic education at Miracle Preparatory School and further at Accra Girls' Senior High School .My younger brother due to some reasons are not staying with us and therefore taking care of my mother largely depends on me. I completed senior high school in the year 2010 and later furthered my education to offer general nursing. Before gaining admission into the tertiary institution, I had to involve myself in various types of businesses which helped me raise some amount of money for school. Back in the senior high school, things were not that easy as sometimes I had to quit classes hours just to make some amount of money to help in my education. This with the support of my mother helped me to buy some books and other education materials. After school, I engaged myself in the business of selling popcorn. A friend of mine bought the popcorn machine which employed me to look after. During my time in tertiary education, I was able to set up a small provisions store with my allowance for my mum that will help her keep up the home. Because I have not gained employment yet due to the economic hardships in the country, I have not been able to expand the shop yet. I strongly believe Zidisha is the platform that will raise me up to that height.

My Business

I business that I involve myself in is the provisions store that I established for my mother. Currently because I have not gained employment yet I normally help my mother at the shop. Because it is a provisions store, some of the items we trade in are drinks, milk, Milo etc. Most of the items we collect on credit bases and sell. We the refund the money when it is sold. Because the items are picked up on credit bases, it is difficult to make maximum profit out of it. Through the little money that we obtain from this shop, we are able to cater for myself, my mum and one little girl that we are staying with. I hope to fully expand and stock my shop in or order to get the maximum out of it. Thank you. i need more stock i more millo and soap of box and more stock .
