About Me

My name is Paul Materi born in 1963 in Nairobi area. I am the first born in a family of 7 members. My parents are peasant farmers and live in the Rift Valley region. I am married with one child who is in secondary school I did my primary school course and later joined secondary school. I joined a teacher training college shortly after my secondary school where I graduated as a primary school teacher. I was posted Namanga Primary School where I worked for four years. I later quit the job and started my own business.

I am an active member of my church – Voice of Jesus where I serve as a church minister. This is voluntary work which I normally do on Friday morning and Sundays.

My Business

My business entails printing works where I print all kinds of publications. I do publications such as simple hand bills, stationery books, banners etc.

I also do branding in form of printing T-Shirts, mugs and signage. I serve small institutions such as churches and schools as well as large companies.
My turnover is about $1200 per month but most of this money goes into buying of raw materials and labour leaving me with a profit of about $300. Given access to credit I will be able to expand my business by stocking raw material for my printing work. I have employed two casuals who help me in doing this job. I hope to employ them permanently when the business expands.

Loan Proposal

The first loan really boosted my boosted my business in a big way. I got the money when I needed it the most and I used it to buy printing materials. I am glad I got a business order to supply a school with stationery and I need your assistance once more to deliver this order.

If granted this money, I will use it to buy newsprint paper and manila cards for making school diaries. I need to make 300 of them at a total cost $300. Though the money I have applied is less than this, I will use my savings to top it up. This will go a long way in building my reputation as a person who can deliver on time hence increase my chances of getting even bigger deals.
