My name is job agwata, i am a Kenyan citizen aged 30 years. i was brought up in a family of five in a small village called Kineni in Nyamira county. After completing my primary school education from Kineni primary i joined Riomego secondary school which i did my forth form though a suport from a well wisher who supported me by paying my school fees, this was because my parents could no fund my educational expenses because of their little income they attained from small scale farming which they cared out in our one hectare farm we had. since i could not go beyond secondary education i ventured into chicken and rabbit farming which helped me to pay for my young ones school fess a swell as paying for my child fees and other expenses
I ventured into Rabbit and poultry farming in small scale after my schooling. with the support i attained from zidisha my business has grown largely and as per now rear poultry in large scale. i have 400 adult hens which give me more than 10 trays of eggs daily. i do supply rabbit meat to some of the major hotels within Nairobi this also earn me a good income. I chose this kind of business because there is a high demand on eggs, rabbit meat a swell as chicken meat within my locality. the typical cost of my business is buying chicken mash, rabbit feeds which am being supplied by mama mboga, and cost of vaccination. I use the profit i get from my business to pay for my house expenses, my siblings and child school fees and donate some to the orphanage
I need to start rearing some hens in free range, so i need to fence with some perimeter fence to keep them enclosed, as well as buy some feeding troughs
