About Me

I am the last born of a family of three children and one mother.I did not manage to go to school and neither did my brothers and sisters. We basically hid away in classrooms here and there trying to get an education in the nearby schools without the knowledge of the teaching staff. However i got an education by doing chores for people in the nearby town and managed to attend some primary school at Netima RC Primary school.
My mother would make and sell buns to kids at break in the nearby Netima RC Primary school and i would be by her side wrapping the buns which we sold at 5kshs per bun (approx 0.05 US cents). My mother was a very hardworking woman and she managed to raise us well.We never went hungry and we were always helping her in our farm where we kept local chicken and goats.

My Business

Because of how i grew up i learned how to make the buns but after selling these since i was in my teenage years i now move on a bicycle with a large supplies box and reach into the village supplying items to those shops which i have bought in Bungoma town and which those shops find hard to access by going to Bungoma town.So i buy supplies from wholesalers in the main Bungoma town such as Adatia wholesalers,Khetia and Buyako wholesalers and then ride my bicycle through the reserves/ through the rural area shops supplying them at a discounted fee but at a fee that is safe enough for me to make a profit. Many of these rural shops get their supplies by sending motorbike riders who charge them to and from the wholesalers so i give them an easier way to access products while making a daily profit for myself.I supply bathing soap, detergents, womens sanitary towels, radio batteries/cells, sweets etc
I am in the process of buying a motorbike to use in supplying my goods to shops and other clients and have even paid a part of the motorbikes price, about 20% and still paying.

Loan Proposal

I will go to my three regular mega wholesalers in Bungoma town and compare prices then seek to purchase Sweets/Candy; a carton of sweets costs 1300kshs(14$) ,Lollipops are sold at 1760 kshs per carton (19$),a carton of 50 gramme Ketepa Tea Leaves are sold at 2,200kshs per carton (24$) , a carton of ballgum/chewing gum is sold at 600Kshs (6$) , a carton of commonly used Radio batteries/dry cells costs 4,080kshs (45$).
The total is 9940 kshs (110$) but I have a current rotating capital of 4500 kshs (50$) that I will add to buy stock at the wholesalers.
As is supply the sweets i gradually sell off the whole carton at the end of the day at 1500Kshs making a profit of 200kshs (2$)
After supplying lollipops at 2400kshs (26$) making a profit of 640kshs (7$).
I sell off to my retail shop clients the tea leaves which are used regularly by Kenyans for morning breakfast and which are fast moving items at 2 500kshs (27$) making a profit of 300kshs (3$) per carton.
I sell of Ballgum/chewing gum carton at 660kshs (7$) making a profit of 60kshs (0.60 US cents).
I sell radio batteries/cells at my wholesale supply price of 4320kshs (48$) and make a profit of 240 kshs (90$).
All the profits above come to an average of 1440 kshs (16$), this depends on fluctuations of prices by my wholesale suppliers although their prices are usually constant and the margin doesnt change as much. The supplies also take me a day or upto three days to deplete my stock as I move with my bicycle from market to market and shop to shop; some shops prefer purchasing in Bungoma town while others prefer to wait for my convenient provisions. With the above profit I can make the necessary boost of my stock as I sometimes also buy and supply shaving razor blades, womens sanitary towels, matchboxes (most people use firewood to cook), margarine, handkerchiefs, pencils, books, soda straws, lotions etc It all depends on the demand but I am flexible as the shops give me their orders. However the above mentioned items I have quoted to buy are the fast moving items that I need to boost in my stock.
