I am single lady with one lovely son I completed my grade 12 some years back at helen Kaunda Secondary school in Kitwe. My son is at Nursey School while am working as a maid within my area.I grew up as an only child in the family and worse enough I lost both my parents at a very age. A sister to my mother took care of me for a long time but by the time I completed secondary school I was not able to go college as there was no sponsorship. I stayed home to look after the kids for my auntie. However I became very vulnerable with that type of life and unfortunately, I fell pregnant and the man ran away from me. I love kids so much. My aunty introduced me to a couple that needed a maid so I was interested and started working for them until now.i love taking care of kids during my free time, mostly I don’t work on weekends so I go out with my kid.
I work as a maid taking care of a child for a certain couple and also doing at the same house. But my boss has given me off days at weekends. There is what called weekend market in my community where farmers bring farm products for sell such as vegetables, fruits etc So I usually buy vegetables in large quantities worth 200 ZMW then I resell at a small market and make some profit. I do this as the way of supplementing my income for my child school fees and other needs for my family.
I would like to use the Zidisha loan to pay for my son's school fees and part of it will be use to buy him books .
