About Me

I am celline atieno, a teacher by profession, living in Nairobi Kenya. I have been an educator for 27 years primarily working with children below the age of 5 years.
Being a teacher is a calling that I hold dear and near to my heart. The impact you have on a child during their formative years ultimately shapes who they grow up to be. Over the years I have had the pleasure of teaching children from all walks of life and seeing them graduate to students who are confident and curious learners.
I believe that all my years of being employed have led me to this precise moment that I am ready to start my own school and take the leadership role and responsibilities that come with running a school. I hope to have a bigger impact on the lives of the children that I get to teach.

My Business

In Nairobi Kenya, the demand for kindergartens that offer quality education is on the rise due to the influx of the middle-class population. To ensure that quality and good service are met, i plan to head and supervise the selection of the teachers who share the same vision as i do.
Athena kindergarten will be run using both the Montessori and KHA curriculum making it an interactive space for children to develop both their artistic and learning abilities.I am committed to the wholesome growth of the children which means involving the parents in the school activities, ensuring that we have inputs from all the stakeholders of the school.

Loan Proposal

I would like to purchase a Dell laptop with the loan, so as to give the children in my neighborhood a chance to interact with computers. Since for most of them having a computer is a big luxury.
Ensuring that children interact with computers will help their cognitive skills improve leading to the greater good.
I plan on charging a small fee to the parents so that I can also be able to pay for my internet connection.

My goal is to ensure that children from low-income areas have a chance to interact with computers.
