About Me

I am a young Ghanaian from Kibi in the Eastern region but reside at Nsawkaw in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. I started Junior High School at the Asutifi Educational Complex at Kenyasi. I furthered my education at the Osei Tutu Senior High School at the Ashanti Region of Ghana. I began my nursing education by paying for my own fees with the money I generated from a small business I began. The people in my community are very kind and humble. In fact, every child in my neighborhood would like to become a medical doctor. I like reading medical books, watching medical movies, and reading newspapers for updates.

My Business

I've been working as a nurse for more than 2 years now. Looking at the number of cases recorded at our hospital, I have learned that there are numerous Hepatitis-B-positive individuals in my community. Currently, I am embarking on a vaccination program for schoolchildren, workers, and all who test negative for Hepatitis B. A single dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine is given at a cost of $11 per client. I am helping to stop the spread of Hepatitis B, and at the same time I am able to make a good sum of money. In a week, I am able to vaccinate more than 50 people at the hospital. My vision is to do outreach in order to help the people in the rural areas, to get them vaccinated as well. In order to create awareness of Hepatitis B in my community, I have started a health-education broadcast on our local radio station. I also conduct health-education sessions at schools, in churches, at corporations, and so on. While furthering my studies, I advertise my vaccination services at my school, too, which enhances my patronage. The major challenge is that the vaccines can be very expensive. Depending on the pharmaceutical company purchased from, one vial costs anywhere from $60 to $100.

Loan Proposal

If the loan is given to me, I will buy a laptop and better medicals books with excellent nusing techniques. The laptop costs around $300 and the books may not cost more than $150. This will help me deliver the best care for my people in the community to boost their strength and work activities. I want these items to also increase my knowledge about treatment of sick people and quality assurance.
