my name is jeninpher Akinyi,I am the second born in a family of 10. my childhood was characterized with lots of hardship since my parents were poor though they worked hard. I walked long distances to Kalome primary school ,and joined Kalome Secondary school which was equally long distance.
I did not join tertiary learning institution because of lack of fees.I stayed home and joined young farmers youth group. The youth leader always invited speakers to teach us various topics concerning farming. These is when I developed interest in farming and started growing vegetables in our family land. I grew vegetables in a small piece of land and since the returns were good I decided to add more efforts and resource to the farm.My business is now two years old and I am dreaming of expanding it to be the best supplier of vegetables in the county.
My hobbies include ,meeting new people, helping the needy, visiting the sick and watching news. I also play basketball for my village team.
I am a young farmer and I grow vegetables for sale to the community,I sale seedlings, green vegetables ,tomatoes and capsicum to my esteemed customers.
The goods and services are in high demand due to growing population and lack of land for farming, most urban dwellers depend on me for their supplies.
I choose farming business after trying it out and finding out that it was a very good business.
I spend $100 on a month and earn average $300 on revenues. I use the money to save for my degree course, pay fees for my siblings and support my parents with the basic needs.
I will use my first loan to buy a knapsack sprayer for spraying my crops against harmful disease causing organisms. These will improve the quality of my produce and make it fetch more in the market. The knapsack sprayer wil cost $80. I will get a loan of $60 after paying for the one time membership fees. I will add $20 to get the sprayer.Thank you in advance.
