I was born in 1983 in Nakuru County. My education started at crater primary school in 1988, I stayed there for the next eight year until 1996. after primary school, I proceeded to Leshau Boys for my secondary education. Upon completing, I joined Wantech computer College and graduated two years later with a diploma in Information Technology. As a small boy I envisioned myself as an entrepreneur, this dream is still alive. It is my dream to create a massive business empire that offer dissent employment to the masses and one that is not only driven by commercial interest, but also environmental and social concerns.
My business runs under the trade name Alltech Communications and is a service oriented business. It mainly deal in provision of computer related services to resident of Dandora and the surroundings. This services includes; photocopy , printing, internet, graphic design, ICT training and a host of other related services. Demand for the same is high partly due the location of my business. The business is sandwiched between Dandora Police station and the Chief’s Office and is within the vicinity of 3 Main churches and at least 16 smaller churches, one government sponsored primary school and five privately owned primary schools. This institutions are heavy consumers of printed materials and prefer to outsource such jobs instead of having them done in house. Due to the populous nature of Dandora area, the business enjoys a constant flow of walk in customers who keep the business running on a day to day basis. Though the business is still young and growing, and the budget for marketing remains non existence. Customer satisfaction and referrals are our two main methods of acquiring now customers while retaining existing ones. To enforce this, I am constantly upgrading my skills through learning of how to use new softwares, I also offers free consultations to my clients. In this business the cost of raw materials is almost negligible, the bigger burden is in settling the monthly bills, in particular electricity , internet and a salary for one staff, cumulatively, this expenses will sum up to 300 dollars. On average, the business rakes in between 500 and 600 dollar when other miscellaneous costs are deducted the net profit oscillates between 150 dollars to 250dollars in a month. My loan will entirely be used in the business and the immediate need is product diversification. Under the same roof, I intend to introduce mobile money transfer service ( M-Pesa ) and sale of electronic accessories. Income earned from the additional business and saving earned from the previous one will be used to meet the loan premiums.
This loan will help me add more stock for electrical and electronic accessories. Examples of product I intend to add include, electrical bulbs, switches , sockets, electrical cables, electronic components, Multiplugs etc. This are ordinary item that are used daily in a home setup and are always in very high demand. This business is already running and the loan will help me purchase more item. I intend to use atleast 500 us dollar and this loan will be instrumental in helping me achieve this goal.
