I was born in 1980 in a family of five, two boys and three girls. My home county is in Bungoma County in western part of Kenya. Bungoma County is the only county in Kenya which is known for forced male circumcision to those who are uncircumcised and have attained that age during circumcision period. I was enrolled in Bunyore primary school for my pre- unit studies in the year 1984 completed the two years early studies and proceeded to Bunyore primary school for eight years studies in 1986. I sat for my class eight last examination in the year 1993 and passed with flying colors and was hopeful to joined good secondary but due to financial problems that was the end of my education. After along time of struggling to make the ends meet by doing odd jobs and casual work in order to support my family and siblings education. I was lucky to be called by my uncle to Nakuru town to look for greener pastures in the year 2006. Getting job in Nakuru becomes very difficult for a school dropout like me since, everywhere I visited for job opportunity I was asked about my career’s papers. I therefore requested a small capital from friends and my uncle which enabled me to start my M-pesa mobile money transactions Shop business. I started this business with a capital of $200 in the year 2007 and the business has expanded and it’s now the source of my livelihoods to date. This small business has also supported my computer part time studies and I’m looking forward to go further ahead and studies business management course. I chose to locate my business at Nakuru town center after some research and finding that there were very many potential customers overcrowding the few available M-pesa mobile money transactions shops. I am now married with two kids and all my kids would like to be business person in future. I like traveling, swimming and watching football matches in my free time.
My business is M-pesa mobile money services. Its entails, offering of mobile money transfer transactions, selling of mobile accessories, scratch cards, stationery, internet services, photocopy, and lamination, typesetting and scanning of papers. The business is approximately giving me an average of $40(4000.00KES) to $50(5000.00KES) net profit every day. This business has been the sole source of my income which pays all my playbills, and supporting the education of my family and all siblings. I have also been able to set aside some savings for future expansion.
Am kindly requesting Zidisha loan to enable me adds my stock and the capital for introductions of new mobile money transaction; Airtell money and their lines.
