About Me

I am called Edwin Wafula, a luhya by tribe. I am 36, married with 2 kids both in nursery school. I am the first born in our family. We grew up in utter poverty with my mum since she was a single mother. Our tribe has a unique culture where after circumcision boys are not allowed to cook or do domestic work but because I was the first born I did. My Hobbies include: swimming, reading books, going to church and playing music. My kids are young but their dream is to become pilots. My level of Education is a bachelors degree in Education (B.ED).I tarmacked and lacked a job and I decided to go for driving school and bought a car for me to be a cab driver. This business I started after selling a piece of land that I inherited from my father

My Business

My business is cab (taxi) driving. I am based in Nakuru town my customers are mostly tourists who come for visits in Nakuru to see the great rift and lake Nakuru plus the game park.I park my car at Merricca hotel. My main income comes during the peak season where in a month I make about 500 dollars. These helps me to pay fees my kids, cater for personal up keep and tuition for my siblings who are still in school. My expenditure include servicing the car, paying insurance cover, maintance costs and government taxes. All the costs total to 300 dollars per moth, total gross income is 500 dollars minus costs balance is 200 dollars net income .my dream is to buy more cars and employ some youths as I create jobs for them.

Loan Proposal

I will buy decent seat covers for my cab costing about 100 dollars, I will also recarpet the floor and make it more appealling to my customers costing about 70 dollars. In total the entire interior appearance of my cab will be lifted and in turn attract more customers than before. This will increase my income by more than 50 percent averagely from current net income of 300 dollars to 450 dollars per month
