My name is Collins and I was born and raised in Nakuru town. I schooled in Flamingo Secondary, where I got a mean grade of B-.
However, my parents were unable to send me to college due to their limited income. Instead, I joined a group called Masai Arts, where I was taught how to mold different types of sculptures. Using this knowledge, I was able to earn and save and eventually start my own workshop.
Today, I am married and blessed with one child, who is currently in class four and wants to be a civil engineer. My hobbies are drawing, making new friends and molding.
I mold sculptures in Nakuru town. My business is based along Kenyatta avenue and is strategically placed near Mericca Hotel. Most of my customers are locals and tourist from out side the country.
My costumers like my products because they are affordable, unique and of high quality.
I normally make around $100 to $150 every month. The challenge that I face in this business is lack of enough funds to purchase wood, paints and beads for my business since they are the main raw materials required in this business.
I am going to use the loan to buy wood at a cost of $50, purchase paints at a cost of $30 and purchase beads at a cost of $20.
By buying more raw materials, I will meet the demands of my clients and deliver them more quality products in time. Through this, I will increase my monthly income hence improve the welfare of my family and also expand my business.
