i was born in pipeline estate mzee wanyama village in Nakuru county, am the only child of the family. i joined Madaraka primary school in free area centre in Nakuru town, later joined shiner's girls school in Nakuru town and completed in 2005 since then I have been doing small business selling all varieties of clothes.i attend Catholic church Nakuru diocese, i participate in various activities in church and other youth community programmes. last year expanded my business through purchasing/outsourcing various fashions of clothes and beads from Kampala in Uganda. i stay with my parents since am the only child and also my business is located in the same area.
For the last three years I have been selling clothes of all genders, i.e new clothes, I decided to operate this type of clothes due to the high demand offered by the young people in Nakuru town. I have been getting orders in Nakuru town from owners of small shops and also hawkers. I have an effective demand due the growing numbers people and also the arrival of new fashions imported from Asian countries which are cheap and affordable to the larger mass market. I have a large number of customers who are very loyal, this have made it easier for my business to thrive over my competitors, I have been able to hold my customers due to the fair price, high quality of products and very favorable terms of trade that I offer to them. It has been difficult to expand my business to serve all my customers due to the high interest rates offered by the financial institution in Kenya, which narrows my profit margin hence hindering expansion. In a month I incur expense approximately KES 20,000, and sales volume of KES 70,000 and approximately KES 40000 profit margin. From the revenue I get I have been able to acquire a plot of land neighboring our home.
i will use my first loan to expand my business purchasing a wide range of products that is young female clothes such the new fashion in town pencil, trench coats and boots which are highly demanded at the moment, i also acqired a single unit shop, where am displaying my clothes; thank you so much zidisha team, my lenders and my Nakuru volunteer mentor mr. Njuguna Sammy for tirelessly guidinng me through
