About Me

My name is Raymond Ondoro and I am a 'Bachelor of Education Graduate-B.Ed' in Economics & Linguistics-English, of the University of Nairobi & am married with five children, three of whom are still in college/ university. Currently I reside in Baraka Estate ( Embakasi) LR Number 18111/250
Hse Number: 139-Y02
I retired from the Kenya Civil Service in the year 2007 at the level of 'Senior Assistant Commissiner' Domestic Taxes Department. Currently I am engaged in motorcycle transport business commonly known locally as 'boda boda'. I have two motorcycles both purchased with my last loan. The business enabled me to meet my day to day financial obligations especially college fees for my said three children. One is in Strathmore University(Nairobi) pursuing his professional course( CPA-K) the other one is pursuing post graduate work in Public Administration. The last is doing Undergraduate course( B.COM). Every week I get Kshs4,800/= from my business which comes to Ksh19,200/= per month which has enabled me to put these people through college. I'll be glad if Zidisha can advance me a loan that will see me through with these project. I can assure you that given my family life, life in Public Service, life as a Semeniarian and as a church elder I will always endeavor to meet my financial obligations to you i.e re-paying the loan and interest thereof on time.
I like reading, writting articles corresponding through e.mails listening to Jazz Music & travelling etc.

My Business

I operate a motorcycle transport system under the name JEVIRA ENTERPRISES. Currently I own two motorcycles, one operated by myself and the other is operated by a driver and thereby I have created employment for one more Kenyan youth. The returns for this business has enabled me to pay the loan ,meet my day to day financial obligations and have some amount to pay for fees for my three children. I get Ksh 800/= per day, and therefore Ksh 4,800/= per week therefore 19,200 per month. I like the business because it has very low overheads apart from minimal cost of fuel. The risks involved are that the motorcycle can be stolen but I have taken comprehensive insurance against such misfortunes. I use the motorcycles to transport people and goods around/ within my estate(Baraka) and the local area.In the vent that you give me the first loan I intend to add a third motorcycle and therefore employing another Kenyan youth as a driver and thereby creating employment in our country. The transport system in Nairobi, like most other Cities in the World, is full of problems that require people to come up with innovative ways of alleviating the same. This situation gave me the courage to try in my small way to come up with transport system like the said boda boda. It has indeed brought a lot of relief to the people leaving in the surrounding areas and indeed other people have picked up the idea and have got into the same line of business in other estates in Nairobi. Most importantly, it has created job opportunities to our unemployed youth apart from keeping me busy in my retirement age and providing me with my day to day requirements and financial obligations. I can promise you that I will take full benefit of the loan that you will advance me and make sure that I put it to the rightful use for which I am applying. From experience that i have acquired within the period I have run this business I know that the returns are good and will enable me to meet a loan repayment schedule plus the interest thereof.God willing I intend to utilize my income from the current motorcycles to enable me repay whatever loan you will advance me within the period stipulated in your contract if not sooner so that i can be in a position to apply for a subsequent loan.

Loan Proposal

I intend to expand my motor cycle transport business and buy another bike so that I can increase my business to four motor bikes. This will boost my income but most importantly will help me create employment for another Kenyan youth as the rate of unemployment is very high in our country. This will also help ease transportation, at least, from where I stay
(estate) to its environs and beyond. Traffic congestion in our city, Nairobi, is a real problem to both the authorities and us the citizens and any transportation means, however small in number, that can help alleviate it is always welcome. It is my hope that this addition to my fleet will go along way in achieving this goal by our Government and us the residents of Nairobi-Kenya.
