My business is located at kiambogo tranding center which is approximately thirty three kilometer (33km) from Nakuru-Elementaita road toward Munanda trading center, my business include operating a hotel and farming/building and construction as minor activities in my plot at Kiambogo trading center. I started my business in year 2010 on December. My business grows up to a level of employing another two more employer without including my wife who also help me, my business name is Walucy hotel which I named after my first born daughter who also work there as my trustee during her part time, but am the manager of the business because the business I the one who own it (soleproprietership). The business Is located at a strategic position thus making me to attract more customers also there is less competition for business offering the same business thus making the business profitable, also the business I operate in my own plot thus minimizing the cost of renting the house . My business is also insured for any kind of risk which may occur such as fire outbreak. My stock is worthy ksh 40000, but I continue adding the services I offered gradually, but during this December holiday I will managed to go up to three times the services I offered due to high demand of the services, but the main challenge facing my business is lack of money as to fulfill my goal to create employment and to expand by business and to build more houses in my plot for renting.
My short term goal is to crate employment among people who have qualified in catering especially to my own children, my long term goal is to open another business within our locality especially at Munanda where I am well known and there is high demand of the services. My business is licensed under the county council of Nakuru municipality to make it legal. My typical monthly cost is khs 40000, sale revenue is around ksh 20000 and profit is above 15000 but I am planning to earning more from the business.

    Dear lenders,

I spoke just now with the local church priest who had signed a recommendation and agreement to mediate in support of Mr. Gacheru's application to join Zidisha. He promised to call Mr. Gacheru to better understand why he has not been making the due loan repayments or responding to our messages. As soon as we have further news, we will share it here.

    Best regards,

    Julia Kurnia
    Director, Zidisha

Hello fellow lenders, as a volunteer here at Zidisha I was able to find out that Mr. Gacheru was last contacted by staff in July, when he mentioned he was having non-specified difficulties - Mr. Gacheru has been encouraged to tell us more about this to enable us to help him get back on track with his repayments. Thank-you.

Hello Pastor Gacheru - is everything well with you? I hope that your hotel is still attracting many customers and that your family is healthy and happy. I'm sure you know that you've missed two repayments - could you let us know why? Thank-you.

Hello - Just wanted to wish you and the rest of Kenya a peaceful election this coming March 4. Do you expect many guests at your hotel over the election period?

Hello Mr. Gacheru - I'm glad that your loan has been fully funded and I hope that you will be able to find a good deal on a refrigeration unit! Here in Canada there are often special deals on items like refrigerators at the end of the old and start of the new year - I wonder if there is the same end-of-year bargain sales tradition in Kenya?
