About Me

My name Mercy Wambui - a business woman based in Mombasa - Kenya. I was born and raised up in central Kenya near the famous mount Kenya. I was born in a rural area where the main activity was (and still is) farming. My parents like other farmers in the region grew food crops such as maize (corn), beans and potatoes.

I later went to primary school and then joined secondary school. I then did a secretarial course in a vocational institution. I later got a job as a secretary where I worked for a number of year.

I later got married and joined my husband in Mombasa which is about 500 kilometers away. I resigned from where I was employed and joined my husband in his hardware store business. This is what I am still doing to date.

I am a mother of 2 children who are both in school. One would like to become a lawyer and the other a journalist.

My hobby is jogging which I like doing whenever time allows.

My Business

The business entails selling of hardware items such as tape measures, adhesives, lubricants etc. I get my stock from the capital city - Nairobi where there are big suppliers. I then retail them from my outlet at a profit.

I sell these items to many technicians in Mombasa city. I use the profit from this business to run our family budget and this supplements my husband's income.

Project Proposal

Once I receive the funds, I will buy electrical fittings of which I will target to sell to other people who are constructing houses near my area at a profitable fee and plug the profit back to my business and I believe that I will not let my funders down because as I run my business everyday a lot of electrical items are been asked for from my shop and most of the times am finding myself not able to buy all the things they are asking for due to constraints of funds, but once I get the funds I will be able add those items to my shop, such as electrical wiring, pipes sockets, bulbs and other gadgets required.

First of all I would I would like to thank all those who funded me for without you funding me I would not have realized my my dreams. I will use the funds to add a few Electrical items which are fast moving. The profit which I will get from selling those items, I will plug it back to my business and by doing so, I believe that my business will expand and I will be able to contribute comfortably towards paying some of our home bills.

I would like to thank all my backers for raising the funds for me, without you backers I would not have moved a step forward with my business, I was able to purchase some goods with the money, which were fast moving and I was able to repay the loan smoothly, I will appreciate a lot if I get more funds so that I can be able to expand my business which is still growing slowly and I believe that with time I will stock my shop fully. My business was largely affected by the covid epidemic and now the economic effects of our country Kenya, but I thank God for we are recovering now. Apart from stocking oils with the money obtained from the fund raisers I would also like to buy other forms of goods like electrical items which I will sell at a profitable fee for there are a lot of construction of houses in my area and electrical gadgets will be needed of which I believe I will sell to them make a profit and plug it back to my growing business. Thank you are funders, I will not disappoint you.
