About Me

I am Richard. I grew up in Western Kenya. I came to Nairobi for undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi. In Nairobi, I have worked as an online marketing and tour consultant for 14 years. I run a blog at how.co.ke and an online business at hawlast.com.

My Business

I am as of March 2024 now back in Nairobi. My online business at hawlast.com is growing well and can cater to operations. I manage 30 websites for clients and get a small annual fee from each website owner. My services include search engine optimization, Speed optimization, and software development. The typical costs include hosting space for my website, rent, and internet connection costs.
Almost 70% profit from the business goes towards paying living expenses. This year I have got more customers and I will have some room to do digital advertising

Project Proposal

I have several leads for jobs in Dubai or Canada. I would like to apply for a passport and also get vaccines for the trip and take some English exam.

Thank you for your trust. I will begin the passport application process this coming Monday. I will also strive to get the funds back on time so that other businesses can benefit.

I need to apply for a passport and some vaccinations in readiness for a possible trip to Dubai or Canada. This travel will not affect my programming business as I can work from anywhere

Thank you for the funding. This will keep my website and domain names online for another year. I will collect subscription fees from clients and back the loan.

I paid Ksh 4000 to an ISP unfortunately they can not get fiber cable to my location.. So I asked for a refund. The refund came today. I have got a new ISP who are using seltlite that covers my location. The new ISP charge Ksh 5000 for set up. So I decided to clear the last loan and ask for more to pay the new ISP

The ISP did not show up. They promised to refund me because they say it is an expense for them to lay fiber cable to my place. I have already called another ISP who use wireless technology and they told me I am within their radiostation radius. So I have no other money. I have to wait for the refund to pay for poa.co.ke

Just to update you: I paid for the internet installation on 1 April. The ISP came to where I rented a room and discovered their existing fiber cable is 100 meters away. So they promised to set me up tomorrow- Sunday 7 April. I am waiting patiently for tomorrow.

I'm writing to let you know that I'm signing up for internet access today! This is a big step forward for me. With an internet connection, I'll be able to:

Work on client projects and find more freelance opportunities.
Update my GitHub account to showcase my work and attract potential clients.
This will allow me to repay the loan sooner. Thank you again for your continued support. It means a lot to me!

Hi Richard, You can adjust your loan repayments to a smaller amount as needed. It is better to make small payments on time rather than miss payments. Regular payments keep your repayment rate up. Lenders do look at this info when deciding who to loan to. Zidisha is a powerful tool when used wisely to help grow businesses. Your repayment gives others the opportunity to have there loans funded too. Regards, Mary
