About Me

I am a young university graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. I am a tutor at Menji Agric Senior high school in Tain District of Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. My hometown is riddled with poverty with most children finding it difficult to fund their education in the senior high school level. I have a strong passion for agriculture with the sole aim of raising income to support needy but brilliant students both in my school and hometown.

My Business

My farm is a five hectare cashew plantation which was secured two years ago. I have started making proceeds from two hectares of the farm.Cashew is a very important cash crop in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. It has a high market demand and has improved the lives of various people. It is less tedious and less laborious to farm cashew as compared to other cash crops.
I also purchase the cashew nuts from other farmers and sell it to cashew buying companies. Proceeds from my farm as well as profit generated from my cashew business help in augmenting my salary as a teacher. Profits made are to support needy but brilliant students in my community.
Securing any support in a form of loan can help me hire laborers to harvest the nuts especially during January to April. Part of the loan would be used to purchase cashew nuts for sale. I'm also researching into how to process the fruits as beverage. Most farmers concentrate solely on the nuts and allow the fruit to go waste. The fruit can also be incorporated into the soil as a source of organic fertilizer. With your financial support,a lot can be achieved.

Loan Proposal

I intend using my loan to expand my cashew farm. The money would be used in paying labourers, buying cashew seedlings and buying agro chemicals to spray my existing two hectare farm to enable me have plentiful harvest. I'm making efforts in buying shear nuts in the northern part of Ghana(due to the high demand of shear nuts).

I have suffered a serious financial difficulty due to a sickness of a relative. This has made it difficult for me to make payments.

I need to reduce the amount I pay so that I can hold the loan for a period of time and improve my business. I will adjust it upwards as time goes by.

Thank-you, I'm sorry that your business isn't doing so well at the moment. I think you need to look again at your schedule, because I'm not sure that your adjustment went through correctly. (You are shown to be late.)

I'm highly grateful to my lenders and the entire Zidisha team for finally funding my loan. I'll use the loan to finance the maintenance and expansion of my cashew farm and use the remaining amount for selling of cashew nuts.

I'm patiently waiting for funding for my next loan. I have barely a week to go and I have received 5% funding so far. I'm pleading with my lenders to hasten my funding for me. I believe my track record is strong and there's no doubt that I would pay back without hesitation

I was initially reluctant to join Zidisha when a friend introduced me. I have been greatly blessed upon joining Zidisha. The loan has a flexible payments system and a relatively smaller charge compared to our conventional financial institutions. I am so grateful to my lenders and the entire Zidisha community.

My recently paid loan has helped me in putting my cashew farm in order. I have been able to sell 10 tonnes of cashew with the loan given to me. I have been able to send a poor disabled girl (deaf ) to a boarding school and paid the fees in full. I am so grateful to the entire Zidisha community, particularly my lenders. I am highly optimistic that your continuous support would help me achieve a lot.

My plan is to sell at a larger scale next year. It's not difficult for me to buy from the farmers since I am one of them (a cashew farmer).

I'm glad to learn that your business plan of buying from the farmers and then selling on to the companies is working. Next loan (?) you will be able to buy and sell even more, hopefully.
