My name is mary nduta,first born in a family of 6. I live in kinangop nyandarua county am married and I have 4 children(2 boys 2girls).being a firstborn I had a lot of challenges as I was to assist in a lot of household chores and to set good examples to the rest of the sibling In kinangop we have good climate which is favourable to most of the crop including cabbages,carrot, French peas and irish potatoes.Almost all domestic animals does very well in this area but in my farm I rear 1 dairy cow and1 heifer, 5 sheep and poullty. currently I want to diversify my dairy farming as it bringing good returns
Am a farmer mostly concentrating on dairy farming. currently I have 1 dairy cattle producing 11kg of milk per day we use 2kgs for subsistence use hence we sell 8kg per day to Tulaga farmers co-operative society at 0.3dollars per kg.0n average am able save 20 dollars per month after meeting all my monthly expenses.am intending to plant more fodder crops for my cow during November rains in preparation of the dry spell.am intending to plant a hybrid maize variety which will take 4 months to mature
With my second loan,am intending to construct a fodder store, dimension 10m*50m made of timber and iron sheet.the cost of this material is as follows:iron sheet u.s.d 100 cost of timber u.s.d 100. cost of labour u.s.d 80.with the construction of this store, i will be able to store my fodder during the harvesting season.
