About Me

I am Margaret Nyambura, a cheerful and enthusiastic mother of one who is trained in Hospitality (food & beverage) from a local college. I hail from a small town near Makuyu in Murang'a county. At 23 year old I have been lucky enough to get a loving partner and a wonderful baby boy. I was previously employed as a Food and Beverage Service attendant a nice hotel in the area. However, after getting pregnant in late 2022, I was forced to leave the job which was okay at first but turned rough very fast after my partner got laid off from thier job. Now my boy is 18 months old and so it has become easier to move around. A few months ago I decided to begin a small business that could supplement income in the house. It hasn't been easy especially owing to the current situation in our country. The good thing is that it's now becoming easier to travel around because the baby is starting to walk now so I have also been looking for new opportunities and I want to get into them to the maximum.

My Business

I supply seasonal fruits (e.g. mangoes) and dry cereals to local households and mostly Mwea pishori rice which I get from wholesalers in Mwea town. I get help from my brother who is a matatu conductor plying the route, to transport incoming supplies at a favorable cost. I have been selling these cereals from door to door, shop to shop and through recommendations.
I feel it's time to move to the next step. So I am want to set up a shop where all buyers will be able to reach me at anytime of the day.

Project Proposal

I am hoping to get funds to get enough stock to supply two orders that I managed to acquire. These are mainly for dry beans and green grams. Also looking to increase avocados stock which are currently selling well. Will also do some minor repairs on the shop that was damaged by the heavy rains.

I will purchase more stock of dry beans and green grams to fulfil orders. Also do some repairs due to damage from the heavy rains. Thank you very much for enabling me to improve the business. May you also experience the same favor.

I am going to secure premises for my cereals and fruits where my current and future customers will be able to find my products any time of the day. Will also get a business permit and buy a few wooden platforms for storing the grains.
This is a great step that will enable me to kickstart my dream to become more independent so I am very thankful for your support. May you get even more coming your way. Ahsante sana!
