I am Pauline Wambui and am 29 years old, am married and have 2 kids. I come from Nyeri County, Kenya. I went through my primary education ok, until when both my parents passed on and I almost didn’t attend high school. Thankfully with help of bursary from CDF run by our area Member of Parliament at that time, I and my 3 brothers were able to attend high school. I have another brother, the last born who was aged 4 years when my parents passed on. At the moment am the one supporting him, as he attends university. I was not fortunate to secure further bursary for my college education and I moved to Nairobi to live with a cousin. While in Nairobi I got temporary jobs like being a merchandiser in supermarkets and in product activations. Later I met my husband and we got married and he helped me to save a bit and I opened a shoe boutique shop. I love fashion and my hope is to grow my business to a shoes and accessories wholesale store. My older daughter who is 5 would like to be a journalist and the younger one is 1 year old. My hobbies are travelling and reading because they relax my mind.
My business is a trendy shoes boutique shop where for now I sale ladies and kids shoes, but my dream is to expand to a wholesale to a point where I can also offer employment. I always had a good eye for nice shoes and I know I can help ladies where I stay wear good shoes.
In a month it costs me restocking / replacing shoes I have sold, replenish perfume refills, payment of shop rent and other statutory expenses, household expenses and my brother upkeep in University. I normally get sales of about $400 – $550 and after deductions I average profits of about $250 - $300 which I use to expand the business.
However, this is not enough to expand quick enough. My plan is to expand to men shoes and also stock accessories like perfumes refills, earrings, necklaces and handbags. But due to lack of capital, I have only managed to stock ladies shoes and some kids shoes. I recently got a small loan to stock perfume refills, but the loan was very expensive and almost discouraged me. After researching online I came across this website, Zidisha, almost like a miracle, and decided to apply. Please lenders help me achieve my dream, Thank you.
Hello lenders, I will use the loan that you’ll advance me for the following;
Stock Ladies Shoes – $100
Stock Men Shoes – $200
Stock Children Shoes – $100
Stock Perfumes refills –$100
TOTAL: $500
This will help me improve my business and increase my profits by about 30%. Thank you
