My name is Stephanie Wanjiru a first born in a family of four girls raised by a single mother who used to work in the farm to ensure we go through school and don't lack basic needs . I went to primary school in Kitale Academy and studied in Uganda for my high school since the cost of joining high school there was cheaper and thus affordable to my mum. Unfortunately she passed on in 2017 and I am left to care for my 3 siblings. One is in college taking IT Course, the other is in the university taking Biomedical engineering and our kast born is in highschool.I am married and also a mother of three boys aged 11yrs, 8yrs and 4yrs. I have not been able to secure a job since I completed my University course in 2013. I co- share a vehicle tracking business and also do baking as a hobby which earns me some money.
The vehicle tracking offices is located in the Central Business District of Mombasa town in Kenya. We track transit vehicles from the port to different border points in the country. How the business works is that we deal with clearing and forwarding agents who clear the vehicles at the port. Once cleared,a GPS gadget which looks like a large padlock is fitted with a simcard. The 'padlock' is then hooked to the transit vehicle and locked remotely from a server when it's ready to leave the port. The simcard inserted in the gadget helps in tracking/sighting the vehicles Iocation until it reaches the border where it is again remotely unlocked as it crosses to the destined country.Once unlocked, the gadgets are sent to MSA via courier to begin the process again. Each transit vehicle is charged 15 USD per trip and is given a maximum of 3days to reach the border thus a single gadget can make 2 trips per week. It is the only business that caters for all bills and basic needs for my kids and my siblings.
It is my prayer that when I get this loan I may buy more gadgets and increase clientele as right now we are turning down clients due to lack of enough gadgets as majority want their vehicles moving in fleet.
If am to get this loan I see the business on another level scaling upwards since i will have bought the required gadgets and also meet the customers satisfaction. I believe when a customer is satisfied with the services offered, they will be repeat customers and also will refer others thus increasing sales and even better grow the business.
It will also help in settling school fees for my 3 siblings and sons which is currently a major expense.
I intend to pay the loan installment with proceeds from the tracking business.
Dear lenders,
The loan shall service the following
(a) Purchase an oven which costs approximately 140 USD
(b) Buy 3 baking tins of different shapes and sizes @ 15 USD
(c) Purchase a hand mixer which costs approximately 40 USD
(d) Buy Gas cylinder and hose pipe at 76 USD
The applied loan will help me buy the said equipment which will meet my customers needs for satisfaction on orders since before i used to bake using a small oven that would accommodate less baking trays. By managing clients orders,it will increase output for the business thus making profit.
I intend to furnish/repay the loan with the sales from the poncho project and what baking business will generate.
In future i would like to go commercial and make it a family business that will be run by my generations if well managed.
Hopefully the above information will help you understand my quest
Thank you
Stephanie Wanjiru
