About Me

My name is Billy Bwantu. I live in Siavonga town. I am married with four children.

I run a shop where I sell various types of agricultural products, such as fertilizers and Seeds.

I started this business because I am a farmer and I understand what farmers want to get better crop yields.

I advise farmers on seed varieties, types of fertilizers to apply and what types of herbicides to apply to crops.

My Business

I am a farmer and I also run a shop selling agricultural products.

I sell seeds, fertilizers, herbicides and sprayers. I also sell some of the crops which I grow at my farm, such as tomatoes and cabbages.

I started small, with a small vegetable garden and a water pump, which I bought using a loan I received from the community.

Thanks to the lenders I have now managed to open an agricultural shop.

Loan Proposal

I plan to buy 2 rolls of 50mm x 100m poly pipes for use on my farm to water my tomatoes.

The lake water keeps moving further and further, so I need to add more poly pipes to my farm equipment.

I also plan to extend my garden so I can add more vegetables on the farm.
I will use water from the lake to water my vegetables.

Income Source

I sale my vegetables to marketeers, shop owners and restaurants who buy on a daily basis, so I am able to repay the loan in the coming weeks.

Vegetables are hard to find in Siavonga because of the terrain and the extreme heat, so I have a lot of customers who come to buy my vegetables.

It is for this reason why i would like to extend my garden and grow more vegetables.
