About Me

My name is Marion Nyawira from Meru County. Meru is in the slopes of the snow-capped Mount Kenya and it is a very cold area. The community around here does farming, mainly coffee and other food crops. I was born and raised in a family of 6 and I am the second last born.

Like other children in the family, I was taken to primary and later secondary school for my education. I did not proceed with academics after that. I got married but my husband became very abusive after the birth of our first child until I decided to quit the marriage. With the harsh life staring at me, I rented a small house and made a simple structure which I use as a restaurant where I sell meals to the locals.

My Business

I run a simple restaurant where I sell food to the local community. My clients are mostly construction laborers who normally come to my establishment for a quick bite during their work breaks. A simple meal of maize and beans cost about half a dollar.

I make about $12 a day and $5 goes into expenses and I use the balance to support my child with his daily needs. My desire is to construct a better structure where I can prepare the food in a hygienic way and get better chairs and tables.

Loan Proposal

If given this money, I will use it to buy some kitchen utensils. I intend to buy 2 thermos flasks to keep tea and porridge hot since the ones I have are very old and less efficient.

This will cost me $30. On my list too, is a set of hot pots which will cost me $50. I will use the balance to replace lost small utensils like spoons and forks.

If this comes true, it will help me a lot in my business since my customers are starting to complain that I am not giving them a good service as I used to

I have been unwell for sometime and this has affected my business a great deal. Kindly allow me to lower my weekly repayment to KES 100 until further notice.
