About Me

I am Joshua Mkara. I was born in Uasin Gishu County,in Eldoret ,kamukunji Estate in 1976.As usual, i started my elementary education in Kamukunji in a government school.
There were little hurdles along the way but finally i managed to finish class eight. I was supposed to proceed to secondary school even though i did not manage. I was born amongst many children and therefore my parents were not in a position to fund the education of all of us.Apart from the inadequacy of the finances,in my culture ,only the first born has a right to receive support from the parents.I therefore resorted to seeking employment in the local milk textile industry.

I have engaged in active employment for seven year .I then decided to run a small retail shop and do little farming from the savings i had . I have now decide to venture into large scale farming.
I also run itinerary shop that will also contribute partly to the funding of this farming venture. The reason why i do this is to cusson my daily family needs that cannot wait for the quarterly harvest of maize.Currently i have who are ding well in their education and they intend to do medicine in the University when they grow up.

My hobby is reading books and travelling . I also like watching movies and football.

My Business

Given that I hail from a farming background,i do farming as an agribusiness for food security and selling. since i have inherited five acres from my grandfather,i will not need to lease land.
i intend to do maize farming in this parcel of land.Maize being a staple food in this place,it has a high demand .Virtually in every household, maize is consumed on a daily basis. Some people boil maize mixed with beans to eat, others grind it into flour and used to make bread,Others roast maize or boil it while still in the cobs and it is eaten raw.
I chose to plant maize to provide food security to the community around. Maize is also easy to manage because it does need heavy rainfall and alot of farming inputs.
The costs that i will incur in maize planting include the following:

Cost of ploughing -10000
Seed(40kg)@400 -16000
Fertilizer -4000
Top dressing -8000
Harvesting cost -10000
Total -50000.

The total amount for this endeavor is 50000,this is an extra of about twelve thousand that i will fund my savings from the previous endeavors.

The proceeds from this venture will be spent as follows: Payments of the school fees for my kids ,taking care of my parents who depend on me entirely, reinvesting in the next seasons farming

Loan Proposal

When given this funds .I will buy the following Items.
1.1 bags of maize floor at 25 dollars
2.1 sack of sugar at 50 dollars.
If I can buy those items for now it will take me very since part of this money will be deducted for registration and for Zidisha fund .
If I am funded I promise to be faithful in repaying this loan as fast as possible so that I go to the next level of Zidsha loan or funding.
